Let’s Join Hands To Alleviate The Skill Shortage

The skill shortage and lack of vocational training of the educated youth aspiring for a global career is a most widely debated present day subject in most of the developing nations. The world is experiencing an ever widening gap between the demand and supply of skilled workers in all the different levels of employment and the global shortage of skilled manpower is expected to stand at 56.5million by 2020. Lack of vocationally trained work force shall slow down the productivity and development of the nation and ultimately to an irrecoverable decline in international market share in economic activity. Hence the economic implication of lack of adequate, proper and timely vocational training to the swelling work force and university graduates in terms of the opportunity cost shall be very high for any country. ISDC - International Skill Development Corporation works on various Skill Development Projects across the world through its structured plan and aims at Developing Skills for Tomorrow with a vision of creating skilled economy. ISDC offers numerous Vocational and Professional Education Qualifications, Certifications, Diplomas, Test Programs on various segments for catering the demand of all the age groups. It works with Professional Organizations and Bodies in order to bridge the skill gap in the Economy.

With the second largest work force in the world after China, India has to play the lead role in transforming the young population into productive work force with skills which can fetch them gainful employment. With an ambitious target of imparting vocational training to 500 million youth through the various skills development initiatives it is expected that India would be able emerge as the Global hub for skilled manpower before 2020. But the challenge appears acute when considering the facts that over 65% of India’s large population is below the age of 35 years and that as much as 80% of them as well as the 12.8 million new entrants to the job market every year do not possess any identifiable or marketable skill. ISDC is continually developing new qualifications to equip young people and adults with skills for sustainable employment, and to ensure the employers have the right skills for their businesses to succeed in the global economy. ISDC conducts research on general trends and needs on professional and vocational education and develops qualifications to satisfy the requirements. The opportunities open to private sector as well foreign institution to fall in line with the Government in the mammoth task of transforming such a great lot of young graduates and career aspirants into a productive work force giving the Indian economy a demographic dividend within the targeted period appears spectacular and rewarding.

While the Government initiate several programs with large fund allocation to upgrade the skill and knowledge base of the employable youth in the country and to help them to get suitable placements, the private sector has a far more wider share to contribute in this endeavor of Government to identify and train the youth in those employable trades which are in demand in the global market. International Skill Development Corporation have set the platform to share the responsibility identifying and imparting vocational training through professional programs to the young generation having great career aspirations with strong focus on enhancing their competitiveness and employability with which they would be able to position themselves ahead in the race for global career. With services offered in more than 30 countries, ISDC is well positioned to meet the increasing demand for skill development and professional education across the globe.
